TNCC has been conducting training for faculty in service-learning curriculum integration training since summer 2007. Over 1,000 faculty from the 13 community colleges in Tennessee were provided training through the VU/TACEP/TNCC Learn and Serve America funded project between summer 2007-summer 2009. Since the founding of the TNCC in spring 2008, over 1,500 faculty from the four year institutions in the Tennessee Board of Regents, the University of Tennessee, and the Tennessee Independent Colleges and Universities Association have received training through campus in-service, special events, regional events, and annual conferences. Since TNCC is affiliated with 36 other State Campus Compacts in the U.S., TNCC also provides faculty with opportunities to participate in webinars and other professional development activities throughout the year.
TNCC strives to foster a faculty-to-faculty mentoring program for the sharing of service-learning best practices across the three systems of higher education in Tennessee. If you are a faculty member who would like to serve as a mentor or if would like to be assigned a mentor, please contact Dr. Mani Hull at the TNCC Central Office.
